Bob Langstaff came to Amherst from Fresno, CA and in 1988 he formed the COMMUNITY FIRST BROADCASTERS, INC., of which he is President and CEO. Bob was educated at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and his resume encompasses a broad spectrum of experience and knowledge in the Communications field.
Included in his intriguing background is his position as General Manager of LOVE97-FM, a contemporary Christian Music Station in Fresno, CA, and Program Director at KPHD-FM, where he worked with Mike Novak. Mike Novak is currently the CEO of K-LOVE Radio Network, your home for contemporary Christian music.
Currently Bob is the General Manager and Owner of WAMVradio1420 and enjoys being at home here in Amherst, Virginia. In 1974, Bob accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and has been continually involved in Christian and church activities since that time. He currently teaches the Adult Sunday School Class at Amherst Church of God. |

Alexis grew up in a pastor's home, which actually means she lived in lots of places, and is what is commonly and 'lovingly????' referred to as a PK. If you don't know what that is... GOOD! She attended Lee University in the Good Ole Days when it was Lee College, and cut her teeth on gospel music.
Alexis has been involved with Southern Gospel Music most all of her life, with sprinkles of choir directing, Minister of Music stints, Contemporary Praise & Worship Leading, Media Ministry and singing with special groups. She is currently designing websites and producing her own show here on WAMV Radio 1420: SOUNDS OF PRAISE!
Ask her what her passion is and she will tell you 4 beautiful grandchildren, their parents, her extended family & friends, and SOUNDS OF PRAISE!!!! Actually, put in the words of her mother - if you want it done, she can do it for you, and if she can't today, ask her tomorrow. She will research and learn how.
